What You'll Find Here

This collection of metal fabrication resources is written by the same team that runs our shop floor — not outside contributors guessing at the process.

We publish practical, technical content for procurement teams, project engineers, and operations managers evaluating a fabrication partner or trying to understand a process before specifying it. Expect straightforward explanations, not marketing fluff. When we cover a topic like FCAW welding or CNC nesting, it's because someone on our team has actually run that process, not because it makes for good search engine content. That distinction matters more than it might seem — a lot of fabrication content online is written by marketers with no shop floor experience.

Browse Our Metal Fabrication Resources by Topic

01

CNC & Processing

Cutting, nesting, and material utilization topics for shops running high-volume production — including how nesting software affects per-part cost and where automated cutting hits its practical limits.

02

Structural Welding

FCAW processes, AWS compliance, and what certified welding actually looks like day to day — from weld procedure documentation to how welder qualifications get verified and maintained.

03

Codes & Compliance

AISC certification, quality management, and what to ask a fabricator before signing a contract — including questions that reveal whether a shop's certification is current and actually audited.

04

Project Spotlights

Real jobs from our shop floor — what made them technically interesting or logistically hard, and how our team approached the scheduling and coordination behind the scenes.

Before You Dig In
01

Most of these metal fabrication resources come out of questions we've actually been asked — by procurement teams comparing quotes, by engineers specifying a weld process, or by project managers trying to understand a delivery timeline. We'd rather answer a question once in writing than repeat the same explanation on every sales call, so this is partly a reference for our own clients and partly an open resource for anyone in the industry. If there's a topic you'd like us to cover, our contact page is the fastest way to request it.

02

We keep the technical detail level fairly high on purpose. This isn't a general-audience blog — it's written for people who already work in construction, manufacturing, or procurement and want specifics, not a simplified overview. Expect references to actual codes, actual equipment, and actual tolerances rather than generic descriptions of "quality" and "craftsmanship" that don't tell you anything useful about how a shop actually operates day to day.

03

New posts get added as our team has time to write them, which tends to follow the rhythm of the shop floor rather than a fixed schedule. Some months bring several project spotlights back to back; other months are quieter because the team is heads-down on production. If you need an answer faster than a blog post can provide, reach out directly and we'll get back to you with a straight answer rather than making you wait for a future article.

04

If you're comparing us against other fabricators, these posts are a reasonable way to gauge how we think about a job before you ever submit files. The same standards described here — documented weld procedures, quality systems audited under the AISC Certification Program, nesting software that actually gets used — are the ones applied to every project that comes through our shop, not just the ones we choose to write about. In that sense, this blog doubles as an informal audit of how seriously we take our own claims.
